Wheel configuration

The first part of the wheel configuration, for example 4x2, indicates the number of
load-carrying wheels and the number of driving wheels. The wheels of the front axle
(or axles) are always steerable.
If the symbol for tag axle location is used, it is followed by the number of steering
wheels.
Symbol Description
/ : The vehicle is equipped with a tag axle in front of the foremost driving
rear axle.
* : The vehicle is equipped with a tag axle behind the rearmost driving ax-
le.
/* : The vehicle is equipped with tag axles in front of and behind the driving
axle.
